Biographical Info

Bob is a comparative physiology and biomechanist interested in how animals work and how they got that way. When he’s not studying animals, he can most likely be found outside or in a history book. He eventually wants to float every mile of river in Utah, spend more time exploring canyons in Escalante National Monument, sail the coconut milk run, and hike the Hayduke Trail. Bob is currently working as a postdoc in the Biomechanics Downunder Lab at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.

As a University of Utah Biology graduate student and independent artist at the time of his presentation, Brian partnered with book author and yoga instructor Brian Russo to deliver an Art-Science workshop. Bob Cieri spoke about lung capacity and the development of breathing, and Brian spoke about the importance of breathing in yoga and about careers in the art sector.
