I graduated from Oklahoma City University in December of 2018 with a B.S. in cellular and molecular biology. After taking a semester off, I moved to Salt Lake City to start the first year of my Ph.D. program at the University of Utah. Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Human Genetics. My research is focused on studying the population genetics of malaria resistance in human and non-human primates. While I am unsure what my career will be, I know that I want to continue studying the population genetics of underrepresented populations in the field of genomics.
Outside of science, I spend a lot of time hiking and backpacking, rock climbing, skiing, and exploring the wonderful outdoors that Utah has to offer. I also love doing puzzles and I enjoy baking.
